I have decided that the kids are conspiring against us. They are both going through major changes at the same time. Jack mastered crawling about a week ago, is making major improvements on pulling himself up and is cruising. Sure is fun to watch him explore what has become a bigger world, and even bigger today since we got new carpet installed. Like a good big sister (the bestest one in the world behind me) Anna is helping Jack with his crawling, if you consider being pushed in the butt while you’re crawling help. She is also helping him with his sitting up, if you consider pushing him over so he can sit up again help. Today though she mastered getting out of her crib. Damion was watching Jack in the family room while I was at my computer when he shouted for me. I come up from downstairs as Anna is coming down from upstairs and Damion looked very confused. He thought I had taken Anna out of bed and was upstairs. We took off the side panel we had installed after ripping out a few slats a couple of months ago (her leg was stuck, it was the easiest way to free her) so she can climb in and out of her bed. Seems safer than climbing over the side of the crib, right? But putting her to bed was rough. How do you keep a little monkey in a bed and if not in her bed, then in her room? Well after some tough love the Little Monkey stayed in her room. Damion checked on her about an hour ago. She was sleeping in her bed. Oh! Oh! Oh! Let’s not forget potty training. All Anna’s idea. I’m just along for the ride. If she’s in the mood that day we run to the bathroom a lot! If not we just change diapers. On the day when she’s in the mood I realize that when she needs to go I do too. Sure makes remembering to go easier. But add to this Jack’s crawling. Nothing quite like running to go potty and as she’s finishing up you see this little head pop around the corner and see this two toofs grin and a giggle to make you realize that even the silly things in life are still precious. Oh, and if anybody knows where the kids have hidden all our spoons, would you mind telling us where they are? We promise not to tell them you told us.
