Welcome to damionandjess.com!

We are making configuration changes to the website over the next couple of weeks.  If something doesn't work, or images don't appear, we are working on it.  Thanks for being patient!

I've determined that I'm not all that happy with Mambo.  From a computer guy standpoint, it's great.  It has a good administrative backend and isn't that difficult to get up and running.  Templating can be an issue, but that's really the case with any CMS.

I have to start looking at these things from a USER point of view.  If I was a normal user, I'd be lost in the sea of drop down menus and sections and components and mambots and menus configurations and... and... and...

This leads to another issue.  I would love to get comments about this posting, but I would have to install a new component in mambo to allow it.  I'm ready for something a little easier for the average user.

Enter drupal.  I've started looking at this CMS/Blog package.  The backend is a little cleaner and easier to navigate and the modules are all in one spot and easy to enable or disable.  I've just started looking into it and I'll have to get a site up and running tonight.  Overall it appears that drupal has a better integration with Gallery 2 as well.  Let's just say that the creators of gallery use drupal fo their site.

Really, what is the point of damionandjess.com?  Pictures and thoughts!  So, does it really matter what we use on the backend as long as our friends and relative get to see pictures!?  That's what I thought.

The real trick will be converting the mambo database to drupal... I sense a little php sql translating in the future!
