Let me start off by saying that this week was not one of the best we've ever had. Damion is in Tucson for work which leaves the kids and I alone for the days and nights. Problem this week is that the kids and I are sick. Jack has a runny nose and congestion but no fever. Anna has a fever with no other noticeable symptoms. I have a sore throat and ear. I think if you smash the three of us together we might actually have something to diagnosis. So because of this we were not able to go to the gym or Wednesday's playgroup or Bible study and I'm saying “no” to tomorrows playgroup.
We have spent some time at the parks this week to get energy out of the kids. Problem there is these stupid non-gnatty gnat like things. According to the local paper apparently these aphids thrive on cool and wet summers. Now they are everywhere. Supposedly they don't sting you, just annoy you bunches.
Today we are driving in the beautifully gray, overcast, drizzly day and Anna asked “Mommy, why gog make rain? Mommy, where tun?” I told her the sun was behind the rain clouds. Here's how she verbally processed that statement, “Rain in clouds. Gog make rain, Mommy. Gog in clouds!!” How cute is she! As we turned off a main road she saw the construction at the school by our house and told me that was a big building, was Daddy at that building? Can anybody guess what type of building I told Anna Damion was working in? I told her that Daddy was not there because that was a school. She questioned this new word. I told her it was where she would go to learn. She got excited because she said that she gets to build rockets at school!!!! Anybody able to guess what project Damion is getting ready to do with her? Also, does anybody else think she's going to be bored at school?
Now it's Jack's turn. He loves turning off the tv, much to Anna's unhappiness. We have had to rearrange our stereo set up because he kept pulling one down onto the floor, pulling off the cover and poking the tweeters. When you catch him playing with any of this he looks at you quite innocently as if he's done nothing. He knows objects each have their own word but doesn't say anything other that “maumwa”. Puppy is “maumwa”. His blanket “maumwa”. Mickey Mouse “maumwaa”. Einsteins “maumwa”.
