You may notice that this post is in a new category, creatively named "Office Shed". You'll never belive that it's in a Section called "Projects". It's 10:45pm, and I'm not feeling creative about names... so sue me. :) Well, I've mocked up the shed in Google Sketch Up, just to give an idea of proportions. I have three people sitting in it, but that's the maximum and I can't really think of too many times that there will be three people. Either way, I provide for your amusement, the 3D mockup. Outside dimensions are still 10ft x 14ft. Just a bit under the 144 sq ft "permit-required" limit. I know it's a little small, but that's a phone, keyboard, mouse, and monitor on the desk. Office Shed in 3D I'm hoping that I can actually start a materials list for just the shed part (no drywall, flooring or lighting). With the shed shell in place, I can build it out over time. That's my thought anyway...

You funny man Written by Jess on 2008-03-04 21:58:01 I have to go public with this.... I think it is absolutely cute, silly & odd that you actually put a mouse on your desk. Seriously, who does that? | Written by MrShake on 2008-03-05 07:09:08 I can only think of 1 person who would do it... and yep, he did it! | Mo' power Written by Benny on 2008-03-19 05:58:14 I'd spring for the permit and put down a cinderblock base, then premade 2 x 4 and plywood flooring across the top. Trench some PVC from your closest house power point through the yard and pull one of your spare house circuits thru the conduit. Come up from the ground into the cinderblock before you put the flooring over it, and wire the circuit to an industrial outlet strip about 4 feet long and place it 18" above the floor. Even if it's a taxable building, you can probably still deduct the cost from property tax with an improvement assessment. If that's the right word for it. |
