The dealership was able to take in the Jeep yesterday. Around
noonish Damion took a call from them. The problem? A leak
in the heater core. Now for those who don't know much about cars
you're likely thinking 'oh, at least the problem is found.' The
rest of you are likely thinking 'how do you get a leak in your heater
core.' I fall into this second group because this part sits in
your firewall. Not an area really exposed to possible damage. I'm
not too worried though because the extended warranty is paying for it.
Since
it was in the shop Damion asked them to replace two bulbs that light up
pictures for the knob that corresponds with the vents. Sounds
simple, yes? No. Replacing those bulbs actually require the
replacement of the whole heater control unit (has the knobs for
temperature, fan speed, vents). This too is under warranty.
Thank
goodness for the warranty because all we owe is our deductible and the
charge for flushing the power steering system and cooling system.
We should hopefully have it back Saturday. I hope that's so
because I don't like the idea of having to stay at home and I don't
like the idea of having to get up from Anna and my morning nap to take
Damion to work. Yes, it is all about me.
