Good Bye Logic!  It was nice knowing you.

Last week Damion and I were talking and I mentioned Baby Girl is due in 5 weeks.  Damion was nice enough to tell me that it was next month.  I wasn't too happy with him stating this.  Why?  Next month seems so soon and 5 weeks doesn't seem as soon.  Trust me.  It makes sense in Jessie's Pregnancy World (which is an even better place to be than Jessie's World).  Anyways, this sent me into a tail spin thinking about a couple of things we need yet.

One of those things is a car seat.  The fact that this week I decided we would not be getting the stroller / car seat combo we had initially looked at didn’t help matters.  So, Wednesday night we went to Toys R Us (stupid no Babies R Us in this city) to look at the combos again.  After looking for a bit we walked away and I tried to explain how important it was to get a car seat because if we didn’t have one "they" wouldn’t let us take her home.  Damion tried to reassure me that we would get one in the next five weeks and we would be able to bring her home when the time came.  I again stressed that we had to get one because "they" wouldn’t let us take her home and while we have in theory 5 weeks what if she should come early?  We can’t take her home without a car seat!  I think I stressed this point about 3 or 4 times in a row and I think if I had to say it one more time I would have cried right there in Toys R Us.

As I reflect back on this incident I realized that the pregnant part of my brain had mutinied against the logical thinking part.  Because logic says that if Baby Girl should come early and we don’t have a car seat, I’m pretty confident that Ben or Amy or Adam or Nicole or Rob (if he’s in the area) or heck even Dennis (Amy’s dad) would go a get a car seat for us because that what family and friends do.

I also realized that during that last eight months God has blessed Damion with extra patience and understanding towards me.

Also, can somebody please explain to me why Kina is attacking the CAT5 cable that goes into the living room?

Car seats

Car seats are very hard to pick out. They need to match the baby, the car and your general life style. Just buy a school bus you wont need seat belts or a car seat.
Logic is overrated for Moms

Every Mom is expected to overreact and be emotional from time to time so I for one am glad to see that you are getting into practice and that Damion is moving into the time honored role of reassuring his wife---everything will be fine Dear. I would recommend giving the pregnant woman what ever she wants, it's just easier. Now for the emotional mom - call me!
