Basically I wanted to go to an apple place, don’t know why,
just did, so we did. This past weekend
we met up with Matt and Tiffany and went to a not so good place but then we
went to Tanners Orchard. Tanners
Rocked! Of course we took the camera
with us and took bunches of pictures. It
was a fun day topped off by dinner with Tiffany’s parents and apple pie back at
Matt & Tiff’s. For a day that looked
like it might not be so good, it was great!
While at Tanners we watched kids ride around the
property while sitting in barrels pulled by a tractor. It looked
like soooo much fun. Unfortunately we didn't see the adult
version of it though. As we walked by the new group getting
started the barrels started to tip over!!! Fortunately the driver
stopped as soon as people started flagging him down. Damion
rushed to help, with Anna in his arms. He came back quick and
passed her off and there he went. Fortunately none of the kids
were seriously injured, just a couple of scrapes. Kudos to the
driver though who recognized he was not in any emotional/mental
condition to keep driving the ride. We later saw him in the
market and he gave us a apple donut to try and his personal favorite
apple for pie. Nice guy.
I’ve also put up some more pictures in Anna’s gallery. There are some from yesterday and today but
also some from a couple of days in September.
If you look closely at the pictures from today you’ll see her three
established teeth and maybe you can see one of the three that are starting to make an appearance.

Anna likes, correction, LOVES Cheerios. She will eat them off a table, from a bowl,
off the floor, off a chair, and from your hand.
The problem with them is actually the ones that fall and you don’t see
them so they don’t get picked up. This
is when a Cheerio is transformed…into a LANDMINE!
If you have kids you understand. If you don’t, well, stop laughing because you
too will find out someday. You will be
walking through a room and CRUNCH. You
have found the landmine. Hopefully you’re
wearing shoes and not just socks or worse yet going barefoot.
In our household, Damion seems to be the lucky one to find
the landmines. However last night,
actually early this morning, he fell victim to one that was not in its proper
zone. He came home from working late,
walked through the front door and CRUNCH.
We don’t feed Anna Cheerios by the front door. She eats them mainly in the kitchen, in the
dining room and down in the living room.
How did one get to the front door?
Do Cheerios actually migrate?
Just something for you to ponder on this lovely Friday.

It has been awhile since I have come across something that has just
not sat well within me. But today I found something on that
wonderful thing called the internet that just baffels me. It is
the "essentials pacifier pod".
Basically it is a little holder, size of a cell phone holder, that you
can attach to your purse that holds two pacifiers so you always have
one with your purse in case you have to leave the house quickly.
And it can be yours for $8 plus shipping!
Really? People are buying this? Anna has gotten to 6
months and I haven't had a need for this. We have kept a limited
number of pacifiers in the house so we always have an idea where one is
located. Oh, so you need to have a place to keep it?
Really? I have found a pants pocket works nicely.
Really?
For if you leave the house quickly? Seriously, there is no
quickly leaving the house if you have a kid that needs a
pacifier. Because there is also likely the need for that
silly thing called a car seat and a diaper bag at minimun. So,
why not do what we have done and leave a spare in the diaper bag and
when you get home put it back! Seems simple don't you
think. Oh the only time that spare is used is when Anna is at
church and the nice nursery people don't use the labeled pacifier (labeled per their request) and
when Nana misplaces the one Anna came with (Yeah QaQa for finding it on
the key rack!)
Yet again though I feel like I need to ask, Really? People need this?

On Saturday May 12, 2007, Anna & Laura (my sister) &
I drove to Peoria
to participate in the 2007 Susan G Komen Race for the Cure. We met up with my friend Tiffany and her mom
Sue. After a short shuttle ride from a
parking area we stepped into a mass of mostly women and some men. The announcer said approximately 23,000
people were participating at the event.
The five of us successfully completed the 5K Walk. Of course there are pictures now posted for
your viewing pleasure.

Tonight I went to pick up dinner and returned to find Damion
and Anna playing with the race track. It
was too cute not to capture on film….well on digital images. After Anna went to bed Damion and I played
with the track. Needless to say the
track had more curves than the ones in the pictures and somebody….okay, me…had
trouble staying on the track. That is
when I said, “Enterprise? Can you pick me up? I’m off turn eight.” That cracked me up and I was pretty much done
for the night, of course the fact that it was midnight and I was exhausted
could not have been of a factor, right?
Time for bed.
