Tonight we were watching Michael Phelps win a gold medal…..again….. and watching his mom cheer him on……..again…..when I wondered out loud, “I wonder where his dad is. Maybe I’ll google him later.” This resulted in Damion saying, “You mean you’ll use the search engine Google .” I said, “No, I’ll google him. (pause) I guess I could Yahoo him.” This caused Damion to laugh and suggest that I could, “Alta Vista him or Cuil him.” But the funniest suggestion? I could Dogpile him. So, when you require a search engine, what do you use and do you use Google as a verb too? BTW – His dad (Fred) and his mom (Debbie) are divorced. His dad worked for the Maryland State Police. Basically all I know now that I didn’t before I “Googled” Michael Phelps is his dad’s name and former occupation. My new question? Why does everybody use his first and last name when talking about him? By now don’t you think most people watching the Olympics would know who you were talking about when you said “Michael” or “Phelpsy”???? Hahahahahahahahaha. As I was finishing up this post I was laughing at myself and Damion asked why. I told him he would find out soon but it was going to take a bit. He asked if I was inserting links for all the search engines. How did he know? I have to prove to yous guys they exist, right? Then he said (ready for this?), “Don’t forget you could e-bay him!” Hahahahahaha……Oh the hilarity in this house at 12:40 am. Write Comment (2 Comments) |

Sorry for the lack of updates recently but I have a nice little rant about why I haven't written much lately. The middle of April I started going to the gym. A bonus of this gym where we have our membership is that they have free child care. Well, this “free” child care has now cost us, since April 17, four co-pays to see doctors and at least four rounds of antibiotics (2 for Damion, one for each kid). It also costs me personally at least one to one and a half weeks away from the gym each round of sickness to take care of everybody. Before this last round we (fyi - "we" is the kids and I) were last at the gym the middle of May. Both kids and Damion ended up with cold like probs. Damion saw the doctor and was told another sinus infection. Since we had Memorial Day weekend plans, we didn’t return to the gym when all were better because I didn’t want to risk the kids being sick that weekend. Write Comment (1 Comments) |

*** UPDATE! ****
Hi, it's Damion... just letting you all know that I'm actually on Day 2! Yesterday (May 28th) was my first day, and today is the 2nd.
******************** A couple of weeks ago Damion posted about converting his mountain bike into a city bike so he could bike to work. Today he did it. He rode his bike to work. Okay, I hear you guys wondering why didn't he do it last week. Well, he and I were sick (the kids were sick the week before) and last week he had just enough energy to drive himself to and from work and play with the kids a bit before calling it a day. It is currently 11:30 pm on Monday evening and I am happy to report that after our journey around northern IL we successfully made it home from our travels. We left our place Friday evening and the kids slept most of the drive to my brother Joe's house. Write Comment (0 Comments) |

In case you don't read comments (shame on you!) you have missed out on a suggestion, and two seconds on that thought, regarding a scrapbook night each month. The thought, as I stated, was two poker nights equal one mom's night out plus a scrapbook night.....trust me, the math works, its married math we're doing with here, which is actually a lot easier to follow than pregnant math  So, my question to the public that would be willing/wanting to attend, is there a particular day that works better than another for everybody? I figured if I make it a posting versus an email, all you closet scrapbookers will respond and not be left out. Also, I did try to upload some pictures of the kids tonight, but there was a slight issue and unfortunately my site administrator is in AZ with a two hour time difference and didn't get my IM about the problem because he was at dinner. He said he'd try to look at it tonight so maybe, just maybe, tomorrow night you'll be blessed with pictures of our children....off to watch the season finale of Battlestar Galactica season 3 before the new season starts next week.
