We are making configuration changes to the website over the next couple of weeks. If something doesn't work, or images don't appear, we are working on it. Thanks for being patient!
This evening I had one of those “the house is too quiet” moments.
I was working on dinner and realized I did not hear toys banging together or the running of little feet or the ramblings of an almost one year old.Off I went to find Anna. She had gone back downstairs and was sitting on the floor next to the recliner……drinking from Damion’s cup of mocha from Seattle’s Best. Why? Because she had already emptied his cup of coffee from this morning. Most of the remaining bits of drinks had been dumped on the carpet so we don’t think she drank too much. She was happily sitting there until we moved her away to clean up the mess. But she needed to be cleaned up too because she had mocha on her face, legs and arms.
The mess has since been cleaned up and carpet spot treatments applied.Anna has been wiped down but still smells like a walking cup of mocha.
That's right, Anna is now 9 months old.At her doctor’s visit yesterday we learned that she weighs 17 lbs 13 oz and measures 27.5 inches long, both of which are around the 50th percentile, which the doctor is happy about. We also learned that she did not want anybody with a stethoscope to touch her with it and that she didn’t understand why the doctor wouldn’t let her chew on the tongue depressor. She also wasn’t too into him looking in her ears. She did like the red garbage bag in the bio hazardous waste can though.
Today we learned that if she dumps approximately 4 cups of bread crumbs on the kitchen floor while I’m making cookies, she will sit away from the pile while I clean it up, behave while I brush her off, and when we go to the living room 10 minutes later it will be discovered that she is has been able to transport approximately 1/3 of a cup via her onesie and folds in the exterior of her diaper.Betcha won’t find that bit of information in any child rearing book.
I realized today that there are a bunch of pictures of Anna that haven’t been shared with everybody yet. Can’t guarantee I’ll be getting them all up.So, I’ve put up the most recent ones of her displaying her climbing abilities.
Things in our household have been quiet….except for learning on July 24th that we are expecting baby number 2!No you don’t need to rub your eyes. You read that correctly. Our son and Anna’s baby brother is due December 5, 2007.
A week before I noticed my smaller pants purchased after Anna was born were not fitting and the next size up pants were not fitting quite right and then while at the gym doing ab exercises in a strength/cardio class I just knew.A home test confirmed it.On the 25th we saw Dr. Harold. He felt my belly and said “Whoa” and left the room.He did return to do the sonogram and that is when we saw him, pics need to be scanned yet.
Anna was with us and her only reaction was to wave back at her brother, smile, and giggle. The measurements taken indicate that he was 21 weeks along. The rest of the visit Damion & I asked a whole lot of questions while Anna sat on Damion’s lap smiling and her hand in the thumbs up position.
The next couple of months are going to be full of excitement and anticipation and spent moving Anna to her new room and working on getting things ready for Jack’s arrival.Don’t worry, we’ll keep you update.
Our little girl is now eight months old.Anna now has two teeth, both on the bottom. They have proven useful in her attempts to mutilate Anna Landmines (aka Cheerios) and more recently cantaloupe.
She is very mobile. She does a modified bear walk/crawl (2 hands, 1 foot, 1 knee) to get from place to place but if she wants to get there in a hurry she does a conventional crawl (two knees and two hands).Anna seems to love crawling to a spot and pulling herself up to bang on the surface. Her frequent victims are the coffee table and dryer lid when I’m doing laundry.Anna also likes to sit on my lap while I’m trying to do stuff on my computer. It wasn’t a problem until recently when her reach increased to include my space bar and the back/forward buttons on my keyboard.
Anna is also starting to understand “No”.Well, at least when Damion tells her in his daddy voice or when I tell her as she is crawling towards Kina litter box.She is cute about her attempts to do certain things, like play with the dvd player or receiver, because she will crawl to it, touch it and look at us waiting for our reactions.
