Since it appears that I'm on a space kick, I'll share this article from the BBC News website. It's about the Russian-European replacement for the Soyus capsule . It's resusable, which is always good. Plus there's a nice little picture. This is actually an nice followup to moving the ISS to a lunar orbit, because this is a way to move astronauts to and from the moon. For you trekies out there... it would get us closer to building a starship at space based ship yard. That would be neat. Write Comment (1 Comments) |

I'm sure that you'll all love this idea. Let's save billions of dollars! How? There's a way... Many of you know that I'm a space enthusiast. I actually watch orbiter landings... not just the launches. Nasa TV? It's fantastic during a shuttle flight. Well, I recently read an article in the Washinginton Post (online) that has a good point about our nations proposed future moon landings. Let's start by moving the ISS into lunar orbit . It's a good read and I've liked to the printable format so you get less of those pesky ad thingys. Enjoy! I hope to read some good comments about this! Write Comment (2 Comments) |

Tonight we went to Sam's Club to check it out and if it was a place we wanted to join. I was ready to join while I was in the parking lot and saw their carts.
The kids were so incredibly well behaved until we were about half way through our looking around and then we saw the time and realized the behavior was to be expected since it was almost bed time. While we were there joining up, Jack was sitting in the cart where he’s not supposed to be sitting, Damion was doing the paperwork and I was running after Anna. Little Man decided that he wanted to stand himself up. Fortunately Damion caught him before he got up, that could have not been good. Also you guys will never believe what Anna did last night. While I was in the kitchen getting dinner out of the oven and Damion was in the office with Jack, Anna was climbing (big surprise, I know) between a dining chair and her high chair. I heard a thud and instant crying. I run out to find her on the floor with her hand over her right eye area. Damion came up right away and …..kid you not……she hit the exact same spot as a week ago! Fortunately she was talking and walking and stuff shortly after so no calls to the doctor. She is fine this morning but she is starting to develop a slight black right eye. Poor child. Last night we were shopping and Anna was doing what she does best, climbing. Well, she misbalanced and fell head first onto the stores marble floors. She instantly had a "bump" that was, kid you not, the size of a golf ball. While driving home to pack Jack's overnight bag (we assumed that Ben & Amy would take him) we spoke with her doctor who confirmed that since she had been dazed for at least 20 mins we should take her to the er, which was our final destination. For the record she never lost consciousness because we wouldn’t let her, we kept talking to her and trying to interact with her. While dropping Jack off she came out of her daze long enough to partially smile at Connor. When we got to the er (about 45 mins after her fall) she started to talk a little bit and walking didn't go well. The only imaging the doctor saw possibly necessary was a ct scan but he didn't want to expose her to the radiation unless it was absolutely necessary. After 30 mins of observation he decided the exposure wasn't necessary and let us go home. After picking up Jack and getting over the counter meds, pictures were taken. The picture of her was taken at 10:30 pm, the fall occurred around 7:45 pm. Happy to report that she is doing better today and the swelling has gone down but the coloring is starting to come thru. Oh and the moral of the story, if you need to be woken every 2-3 hours to make sure you are okay, Damion & I may not be the best people to do that. The picture of Jack is shown because I figured out how to put pictures in mostly by myself with quick assistance from Damion. This was taken the other day while Jack was rolling around in the office. In fact right now he's on the floor pulling the cable around with him even though I put him there with toys. Write Comment (0 Comments) |

Sorry for the lack of updates recently but I have a nice little rant about why I haven't written much lately. The middle of April I started going to the gym. A bonus of this gym where we have our membership is that they have free child care. Well, this “free” child care has now cost us, since April 17, four co-pays to see doctors and at least four rounds of antibiotics (2 for Damion, one for each kid). It also costs me personally at least one to one and a half weeks away from the gym each round of sickness to take care of everybody. Before this last round we (fyi - "we" is the kids and I) were last at the gym the middle of May. Both kids and Damion ended up with cold like probs. Damion saw the doctor and was told another sinus infection. Since we had Memorial Day weekend plans, we didn’t return to the gym when all were better because I didn’t want to risk the kids being sick that weekend. Write Comment (1 Comments) |
