I have decided that the kids are conspiring against us. They are both going through major changes at the same time. Jack mastered crawling about a week ago, is making major improvements on pulling himself up and is cruising. Sure is fun to watch him explore what has become a bigger world, and even bigger today since we got new carpet installed. Like a good big sister (the bestest one in the world behind me) Anna is helping Jack with his crawling, if you consider being pushed in the butt while you’re crawling help. She is also helping him with his sitting up, if you consider pushing him over so he can sit up again help. Write Comment (0 Comments) |

Back on June 28 Damion & I removed the carpet from our living room because we could not handle to puppy smells that had permeated the carpet and padding and would not go away regardless to how many times we cleaned it. The end of July we finally purchased the new carpet and padding. It was picked up on August 9, the exact date Menards said it would be available for pick up. After much frustration I’m happy to report that we have a gentleman coming Monday afternoon to install it. Only problem is that we needed to replace some of the underlayment and seal all the underlayment before the installation could take place. Can you guess what we did once we got home from a bike ride? First, a picture of the kids 10 minutes before we got home. .png)
When we got home Damion dealt with a work related problem while Jack & I started to seal the floor. Jack & I did the first 2/3 of the floor and let it dry. After Anna woke up Damion replaced the underlayment. After dinner Jack went to sleep for his much needed nap so Anna & I did the last 2/3 of the floor. I know 2/3 plus 2/3 is more than a whole room but there were several spots from the first part that needed a second coat. So, off you go….enjoy the pictures . Write Comment (0 Comments) |

Tonight we were watching Michael Phelps win a gold medal…..again….. and watching his mom cheer him on……..again…..when I wondered out loud, “I wonder where his dad is. Maybe I’ll google him later.” This resulted in Damion saying, “You mean you’ll use the search engine Google .” I said, “No, I’ll google him. (pause) I guess I could Yahoo him.” This caused Damion to laugh and suggest that I could, “Alta Vista him or Cuil him.” But the funniest suggestion? I could Dogpile him. So, when you require a search engine, what do you use and do you use Google as a verb too? BTW – His dad (Fred) and his mom (Debbie) are divorced. His dad worked for the Maryland State Police. Basically all I know now that I didn’t before I “Googled” Michael Phelps is his dad’s name and former occupation. My new question? Why does everybody use his first and last name when talking about him? By now don’t you think most people watching the Olympics would know who you were talking about when you said “Michael” or “Phelpsy”???? Hahahahahahahahaha. As I was finishing up this post I was laughing at myself and Damion asked why. I told him he would find out soon but it was going to take a bit. He asked if I was inserting links for all the search engines. How did he know? I have to prove to yous guys they exist, right? Then he said (ready for this?), “Don’t forget you could e-bay him!” Hahahahahaha……Oh the hilarity in this house at 12:40 am. Write Comment (2 Comments) |

It’s official. After this last weekend we are on our way to becoming a family that bikes together . Now I must say it wasn’t easy. Damion’s bike has been slowly brought up to a commuter type bike. My bike hasn’t been ridden since 2005. On Saturday I got new hand grips, the only purchase required to bring the bike out of retirement. The excitement started to mount as we, correction, Damion put on the new handle grips. He WD-40’s the chain and gears and I take it for a test drive. After the kids’ naps we load them into the bike trailer and everybody is ready to go when a problem is notice. A tire on the trailer is flat, oh, and the plastic wheel is broken. Trailer is not usable. So we all dejectedly get ready to go shopping for new wheels and inner tubes. Write Comment (1 Comments) |
