I am happy to report that we have successfully moved all our stuff into our tri level, three bedroom, two car garage house.  Closing on the house was completed with only one set of paperwork not being correct.  Unfortunately the massive snow storm hit the area the night before the movers were to delivery all our stuff.  Saturday morning they delivered everything, with only a handful of items being broken.  Baby Girl's room has been all set up and is ready for her arrival.  The rest of the house is slowly coming together.  It will look a lot better once we get rid of approximately 100 boxes and thousands of pieces of packing paper.

This year Damion and I have so much for which to be thankful.  We hope that you take the opportunity today to stop and be thankful for all that has been blessed upon you over the past year.

What's Going On With Us?

It’s been almost a month since we have provided an update on the happenings in our world.  So here you go.

This coming Tuesday we are scheduled to close on our house in MD.  YEAH!  Then on or before December 4 we are scheduled to close on our new house in IL.  Yup, I went to several open houses last weekend and found a house.  There are pictures from a recent walk through for your viewing pleasure in the Gallery.  Then after the closing of the IL house there is the moving into the house.  An event from which I am going to be banned because on or before or after December 12 Baby Girl should be making her presence known to the world.  Then as my brother Peter was nice enough to remind me last night, Thanksgiving is next Thursday.   Can you tell we haven’t thought much about the holidays yet?

Needless to say, we are both excited about the future acquisition of a house in Illinois because we will have a place to call home before Baby Girl needs a place to call home.  Also, it allows us to get all those boxes and furniture out of storage.  More importantly, Damion will have access to his tools, his computers, phones, etc.  This makes him happy because as he said last night, “I am a minimalist (pause) as long as I have all my stuff.”

I’ll let you ponder that statement for a while and wish you all a wonderful weekend.

Can you fail a Childbirth Education Class?
Anna - Before Birth
Written by Jessica
Thursday, 16 November 2006

Tonight we had our first Childbirth Education Class.  There are approximately 18 couples in the class.  Two of them are having boys, one does not know their baby's sex and the rest of having girls. We found out that the class before had similar breakdown with the greater number having boys.

Anyways, we listen to the teachers talk about early signs of labor, watch a video and them after coming back from a break we work on relaxation breathing.  Damion and I are good pupils and sit on the floor and get comfortable.  The instructor Kara demonstrates for the ladies how we are to breathe and tells the guys to figure out what they can do to help the ladies relax.  Damion?  Damion asks me, "Do you want me to throw little pickles at you?"  I respond, "Why am I the only one that has that dream?"  Real Genius?  Anybody?  No?  Great movie.  Let me just say that Kenny G wasn't too relaxing either.  During a period of laughing, can you picture me laughing?, I asked Damion if you can fail a childbirth class.  This resulted in more laughing.

At the end of the class we did go to one of the instructors and Damion said he was sorry we laughed but that we just couldn't take Kenny G seriously.  She apologized for subjecting us to Kenny G and then advised that she and her husband were immature during their class.  She's had 5 kids and said she's managed through delivery of all of them so she wasn't worried, as long as we got something useful from each class.
