Today has been a pretty slow day in our household. We
went to the 8 a.m. church service at East White Oak. The drive there
resulted in the observation that you can tell how late you are to church based
on when you have to start braking for the stop signs. Today it was 500 feet away, not too bad if
you ask me. Needless to say 8 a.m. service
had a lot of space in both the parking lot and the sanctuary. It had to have been one of the best Easter
services I have ever been too. Note –
this was my first holiday service at EWO.
The music was great with a small orchestra to back up the vocals. I enjoyed watching the drummer play with a
suit on and decided that was a skill on top of a skill. The sermon was on the Eight Miracles in the
Book of John. The sad part was that I
forgot a pen so no notes were taken, but I think I’ll actually remember this
whole service without any notes.
Next weekend we will be going to my parents’ house for
Easter festivities. Fortunately next
weekend should be warmer so Anna can sport some of the cute spring outfits she
has. After then we may go to Chicagoland
to visit Damion’s family. The best part
is that Anna will meet her great grandfather and her great grandmother. As a person who has photos taken with 7 of
her 8 grandparents, I’m excited about those meetings for her.
On Tuesday, Anna has her four month doctor’s visit. This means another round of immunizations but
also the introduction of rice cereal to her diet. To me, that is a little bit exciting. On that day or the next there will be a full
update on her, her activities and hopefully pictures from March to day. Until then you’ll have to enjoy this
picture of her trying to take off which I took today……
BTW - the pink elephant is Tantor.....her security elephant....because everybody needs a security elephant.

Fact - our house is about a half mile from train
tracks. Since we moved in we have slept
with the windows shut. While taking care
of Anna in the early morning hours, I would hear the train in the distance and
not think much of it.
Last night we slept with the windows open (Yeah Spring!). At 5:17ish a train came through town and it was
nice enough to announce its presence several times. The best part was Damion shouted, “Alright! I get it!
You’re a train!”, rolled over and put the pillow over his head to go
back to sleep.

Well, that sure was fun. Our hosting provider (me) had some server problems. They are fixed now, but it involved rebuilding the server that provides damionandjess.com. So, welcome back. We had a couple of hours today that we were totally unavailable and our site wasn't working that well over the past couple days anyway. On other notes... it's about time for a site redesign, huh? I haven't mucked anything up lately on the site, and I think it's about time I did. Any ideas about layout? Post 'em in the comments... All I can say is that I have plans for a "TV" show that will be available here at damionandjess.com. I haven't decided to use YouTube or Google Video. Some say that Google is the new spawn of satan, but it's still a valid option. Post your comments... NOW! Write Comment (5 Comments) |

Everybody has likely heard at some point in their life about
the clothes driers that have “eaten” somebody’s sock. Maybe you have been the victim of the hungry drier.
Recently Anna has started to wear socks. They are so cute. The reason for the socks is because when she
wears them I don’t feel guilty about her only wearing onesies while hanging
around the house.
Put the two above items together and logic would indicate
there should be very few Anna socks left.
I must say that the opposite seems to have occurred. We still have all her socks and there seems
to be one or two in every load I wash, even if I didn’t purposefully add any to
the load. Oh, and if I put them in with
my or Damion’s socks we could be short one of ours but Anna’s count is not
affected. So this makes me wonder, what
is so special about baby socks that driers don’t eat them? Is it their size? Are they too small to be detected? Is it that they are really soft? Is it because the drier also thinks they are
cute and doesn’t want to hurt them?
