Last night we went shopping for groceries to stock our bare
cupboards. I paid them thinking that the final bill seemed
high. I was a bit confused but I had gone grocery shopping with
Damion and when that happens the total is usually a bit more than I
plan to spend. As we were leaving the cash register I was
thinking about the total charges and even taking into consideration
funky pregnancy math it still didn't make sense. So, while Damion
was getting ready to push/glide the heavy cart over the ice patch I
reviewed the receipt. We were charged $125 for a ham! Now I know it was a spiral cut glazed ham, but $125!
We
proceeded to turn around and went to customer service.
Fortunately the guy at the counter was a competent individual and found
the charge of $125 ridiculous. Just for future reference,
apparently most customer service aren't able to adjust a price from
$125 to $13 (the real price of the ham). After several minutes
all was corrected and we were back on our way out the door with a free
ham. I challenged the freeness once, but he told me not to worry
and to have a good night. Don't need to tell us twice, so off we
went with a new total grocery bill in the acceptable range.

I am happy to report that we have successfully moved all our
stuff into our tri level, three bedroom, two car garage house. Closing on the house was completed with only
one set of paperwork not being correct.
Unfortunately the massive snow storm hit the area the night before the
movers were to delivery all our stuff.
Saturday morning they delivered everything, with only a handful of items
being broken. Baby Girl's room has been
all set up and is ready for her arrival.
The rest of the house is slowly coming together. It will look a lot better once we get rid of
approximately 100 boxes and thousands of pieces of packing paper.

This year Damion and I have so much for which to be
thankful. We hope that you take the opportunity today to stop and
be thankful for all that has been blessed upon you over the past year.

It’s been almost a month since we have provided an update on
the happenings in our world. So here you
go.
This coming Tuesday we are scheduled to close on our house
in MD. YEAH! Then on or before December 4 we are scheduled
to close on our new house in IL. Yup, I went
to several open houses last weekend and found a house. There are pictures from a recent walk through
for your viewing pleasure in the Gallery.
Then after the closing of the IL house there is the moving into the
house. An event from which I am going to
be banned because on or before or after December 12 Baby Girl should be making
her presence known to the world. Then as
my brother Peter was nice enough to remind me last night, Thanksgiving is next
Thursday. Can you tell we haven’t thought much about the
holidays yet?
Needless to say, we are both excited about the future acquisition
of a house in Illinois
because we will have a place to call home before Baby Girl needs a place to
call home. Also, it allows us to get all
those boxes and furniture out of storage.
More importantly, Damion will have access to his tools, his computers,
phones, etc. This makes him happy
because as he said last night, “I am a minimalist (pause) as long as I have all
my stuff.”
I’ll let you ponder that statement for a while and wish you
all a wonderful weekend.
