Things in our household have been quiet….except for learning on July 24th that we are expecting baby number 2! No you don’t need to rub your eyes. You read that correctly. Our son and Anna’s baby brother is due December 5, 2007. A week before I noticed my smaller pants purchased after Anna was born were not fitting and the next size up pants were not fitting quite right and then while at the gym doing ab exercises in a strength/cardio class I just knew. A home test confirmed it. On the 25th we saw Dr. Harold. He felt my belly and said “Whoa” and left the room. He did return to do the sonogram and that is when we saw him, pics need to be scanned yet. Anna was with us and her only reaction was to wave back at her brother, smile, and giggle. The measurements taken indicate that he was 21 weeks along. The rest of the visit Damion & I asked a whole lot of questions while Anna sat on Damion’s lap smiling and her hand in the thumbs up position. The next couple of months are going to be full of excitement and anticipation and spent moving Anna to her new room and working on getting things ready for Jack’s arrival. Don’t worry, we’ll keep you update. Write Comment (3 Comments) |

Anna likes, correction, LOVES Cheerios. She will eat them off a table, from a bowl,
off the floor, off a chair, and from your hand.
The problem with them is actually the ones that fall and you don’t see
them so they don’t get picked up. This
is when a Cheerio is transformed…into a LANDMINE!
If you have kids you understand. If you don’t, well, stop laughing because you
too will find out someday. You will be
walking through a room and CRUNCH. You
have found the landmine. Hopefully you’re
wearing shoes and not just socks or worse yet going barefoot.
In our household, Damion seems to be the lucky one to find
the landmines. However last night,
actually early this morning, he fell victim to one that was not in its proper
zone. He came home from working late,
walked through the front door and CRUNCH.
We don’t feed Anna Cheerios by the front door. She eats them mainly in the kitchen, in the
dining room and down in the living room.
How did one get to the front door?
Do Cheerios actually migrate?
Just something for you to ponder on this lovely Friday.

Our little girl is now eight months old. Anna now has two teeth, both on the bottom. They have proven useful in her attempts to mutilate Anna Landmines (aka Cheerios) and more recently cantaloupe. She is very mobile. She does a modified bear walk/crawl (2 hands, 1 foot, 1 knee) to get from place to place but if she wants to get there in a hurry she does a conventional crawl (two knees and two hands). Anna seems to love crawling to a spot and pulling herself up to bang on the surface. Her frequent victims are the coffee table and dryer lid when I’m doing laundry. Anna also likes to sit on my lap while I’m trying to do stuff on my computer. It wasn’t a problem until recently when her reach increased to include my space bar and the back/forward buttons on my keyboard. Anna is also starting to understand “No”. Well, at least when Damion tells her in his daddy voice or when I tell her as she is crawling towards Kina litter box. She is cute about her attempts to do certain things, like play with the dvd player or receiver, because she will crawl to it, touch it and look at us waiting for our reactions. Adam come over yesterday and we were able to get the engine "installed". Going through the bins, we found that I needed some specific bolts... it's fun. But the engine is in. Pictures will be up this evening.
The install wasn't that hard. We turned the engine onto one side. Lefted the frame and place the frame around the engine. A couple of important things... make sure the valve cover is on before you mount the engine. Also, you'll need to drop the oil filter before attempting this. Otherwise, it should be fine.
Adam also talked about a Motorcycle Salvage Yard in or near St. Louis, MO. Jess started putting together a list for me as I talked about what I still needed...
- Engine Mounting Bolts
- Turn signals
- Matching keys for ignition, lock, and seat lock
- Seat
- Maybe a new fuel tank
- Exhaust
- Throttle assembly for the handle bar
It's not an exhaustive list (get it?), but I did find the bolts package on ebay for cheap cheap. Now I just need to win the auction.

You have all been patient, waiting for whatever this project is. At last, it's here and I've already been working on it for a while. I got a motorcycle, and a half, or so. I don't really know yet because it mostly came in bins, mostly. There are two frames, but one is cut up. Can you say "parts"? The other frame was a whole one. I've got a good frame, and engine and bins full of parts. Let's ride, shall we?
Basic details:
- 1974 Honda CB750 Frame
- 1978 Honda CB750 Engine
- Two frames (one chopped in half)
- Bins of parts...
So the question is, what's the time line to build it? My goal is to be able to get it on the road by next spring. I've made quite a bit of progress already.
Since I've started two weeks ago:
- Good frame had surface rust scraped / sanded off and it was cleaned.
- The frame was painted a nice flat black.
- The chopped frame was parted out with wheels and shocks going to the good frame.
When I acutally type it out, it doesn't seem like I really did that much, but it did take many hours. But what do you care? You want pictures!
Ask (my brother left me a voicemail asking for pictures) and I shall provide...
